“DARYA KHAVIAR TALESH FARM CO.” is one of the first & biggest Sturgeon farms located on the coast of the Caspian Sea in north of Iran. The activities of this farm include “Sturgeon Farming” with the production capacity of more than 30 Metric Tons of flesh and 5-6 Metric Tons of Caviar per year under license No. N-K 95-1952 as well as “Sturgeon Breeding” with the production capacity of 100,000 fry in a year under license No. N-K 95-4208 located in Miankooh Village, Talesh County of Gilan Province. This farm is the first private company in breeding of “Wild Sturgeon” (Acipenser Persicus or Iranian Asetra) which has released tens of thousands fry in the Caspian Sea and the first private company which has extracted Caviar from “Wild Sturgeon” (Acipenser Persicus or Iranian Asetra, Acipenser Guldenstadetti or Russian Asetra). It is the first private company for manually feeding of “Wild Sturgeon” (Acipenser Persicus or Iranian Asetra, Acipenser Guldenstadetti or Russian Asetra). The farm has been awarded by “SHILAT” for the above mentioned achievements.
The farm uses the Caspian Sea water for farming the fish in order to simulate the same original habitat as for the fish has originally come from. Caviar is prepared and packed under the control of “SHILAT” (Iranian State Fish- eries Organization) by their very experienced and trained staff. When the fish reach the “Stage 4” (The Caviar is matured), it is transferred to the “SHILAT’s” facility located close to the farm in order to extract the Caviar. Prior to sales permission or export, the authorities shall do all the necessary Microbiological and other tests in order to issue the official permissions such as the “Veterinary Certificate” and the “CITES Certificate”.
