Yesterday, Thursday, April 18, the Turkish Statistical Authority published a statement on Turkish real estate sales in the country during the month of March, and the total real estate transactions that took place in the first quarter of this year 2024

Turkish real estate sales in March 2024:

According to the Turkish Statistical Authority, the country recorded the sale of 105 thousand and 394 properties in March.

Istanbul topped the list of provinces with the most real estate sales, with 19,040 properties and 18.1% of total sales.

Ankara came second with 9,523 properties and 9%.

Izmir came third with 6,413 properties and 6.1% of total sales.

The provinces with the least real estate sales are Ardahan with 23 properties, Baburt with 42 properties, and Hakkari with 55 properties.

Total real estate sales in the first quarter of 2024:

The government report revealed that the total number of Turkish properties sold in the first quarter of 2024 reached 279,604 properties.

Sales of mortgaged properties in Turkey:

Turkey sold 12,880 properties in March.

With a share of 12.2% of total real estate sales.

While sales of 27,622 mortgaged properties were sold in the period between January and March, representing 53%.

Other real estate sales in Turkey:

Other real estate sales increased by 15.3% in March.

To reach 92,514 properties, representing 87.8%.

As for the first quarter of this year, 521,982 other properties were sold, representing 12.3%.

Direct real estate sales in Turkey:

Direct real estate sales increased across the country by 4.6% last month.

Total direct real estate sales in the mentioned month reached 34,399 properties, representing 32.6%.

As for the first three months of this year, 88,256 properties were sold.

Sales of used real estate in Turkey:

Sales of used real estate in Turkey during the past month of March amounted to 70 thousand and 955 properties, with a share of 67.4% of total sales.

And 191 thousand and 348 properties between January and March.

Sales of Turkish real estate to foreigners March 2024:

The Turkish Statistical Authority added in its statement that foreigners bought 1778 properties last March.

And their share amounted to 1.7% of total Turkish real estate sales.

Istanbul ranked first in Turkish real estate sales to foreigners by selling 652 properties.

Antalya came third by selling 618 properties to foreigners.

The third place went to Mersin with 151 properties.

Real estate sales to foreigners in the first quarter of 2024:

Sales of Turkish real estate to foreigners in the first quarter of this year reached 5685 properties.
