Chief Accountant required for an international school in Istanbul

Job Announcement for Chief Accountant:

General Purpose of the Job:
• Provide leadership, direction, and management to accountants in the investment subsidiaries.
• Oversee general accounting functions, including accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, and preparation of financial statements and related analyses at the investment level.
• Submit required financial reports and analysis on time and provide recommendations and financial support to the direct manager or the Investment Manager if holding the highest financial position in the investment.
• Participate in financial forecasting and budgeting processes, and oversee all cost functions, systems, and policies.
• Prepare and present quarterly financial results to the Board of Directors after review and approval by the direct manager or the Group CFO and the Investment Manager if holding the highest financial position in the investment.
• Ensure the application of all international and local accounting standards, VAT, and income tax.
• Implement decisions, recommendations, and policies issued by the main financial management and the Group CFO.

Main Tasks:
1. Contribute to the preparation and development of the investment and in achieving strategic goals and executive investment plans, especially those related to financial management and accounts.
2. Participate in developing and implementing the executive performance plan for the accounts management and contribute to setting executive goals for the financial management, initiatives, and key performance indicators, and continuously monitor them to ensure goal achievement.
3. Contribute to the preparation and development of work mechanisms, policies, procedures, and models related to all financial management/accounts tasks.
4. Control and monitor the implementation and compliance with policies and procedures issued by the Group CFO and agreed upon within the group from a financial perspective.
5. Monitor the actual performance of sectors, departments, and divisions against the planned budgets, analyze deviations, and report deviations monthly to the Investment Manager and the financial manager/Group CFO.

Key Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial and Banking Sciences, with a preference for an MBA in Finance.
2. At least 5 years of practical experience in financial management.
3. Preferably holding professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, MBA.
4. Preferably having previous experience with ERP programs, specifically the financial aspect.
5. 5. Priority for holders of Turkish citizenship.
6. Advanced knowledge in reading financial statements and analyzing various financial indicators.
7. Clear and understandable communication in Arabic and Turkish with colleagues and external parties, both verbally and in writing.
8. Computer skills, specifically in Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, internet, and programs related to transfer operations.
